Maintenance Manager – Nottingham City Centre\n\nSalary: £45,000 + £2,000 annual bonus\nLocation: Nottingham\nHours: Full-time, 8am–4pm (flexible) + occasional weekend checks\nIndustry: Hospitality / Night-time Entertainment\nStart: ASAP\n\nAbout the Opportunity\n\nWe are recruiting a Maintenance Manager to take ownership of the maintenance and compliance operations across a cluster of high‑footfall night-time venues in Nottingham city centre. These are lively, fast‑paced spaces that open daily, making maintenance critical to ensuring safe, smooth, and uninterrupted operations.\n\nIf you enjoy leading a team, solving problems on the spot, and working across multiple buildings with a wide variety of repair and maintenance challenges, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a visible, impactful role.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n\nAs Maintenance Manager, you’ll combine hands‑on work with leadership and planning responsibilities. Your role will ensure the venues are safe, compliant, and ready for opening each evening.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTeam Leadership\n\nLead, support, and develop a small in-house maintenance team (4–5 tradespeople)\nManage rotas, delegate tasks, and ensure high standards of workmanship\nReactive & Planned Maintenance\n\nPrioritise and oversee daily reactive repairs across multiple venues\nPlan and deliver proactive, planned maintenance schedules\nEnsure quick turnaround of issues to keep venues operational\nSubcontractor Management\n\nCoordinate specialist contractors (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire alarms, waste services)\nEnsure jobs are completed safely, to standard, and within budget\nCompliance & Reporting\n\nKeep accurate maintenance records and asset registers\nManage statutory inspections (fire, gas, electrical, lifts, HVAC, etc.)\nEnsure all venues meet licensing, H&S, and environmental requirements\nCommunication & Budgeting\n\nWork closely with venue managers to understand operational needs\nPlan and manage budgets for labour, repairs, materials, and subcontractors\n\nTypical Maintenance You’ll Handle\n\nThese venues are busy, high-wear environments.

Daily needs often include:\n\nLighting and effects repairs (LEDs, festoon, moving lights)\nBar equipment maintenance and minor electrical repairs\nDoor, lock, and joinery fixes\nPlumbing and washroom repairs\nFlooring, decorative, and general wear-and-tear issues\nFire alarm checks and emergency lighting maintenance\nHVAC troubleshooting and contractor liaison\nDaily readiness inspections to ensure smooth evening opening\nAs a Maintenance Manager no two days are ever the same — this is a hands-on role perfect for a natural problem solver.\n\nAbout You\n\nWe’re looking for a practical, organised Maintenance Manager who enjoys juggling planned and reactive work across multiple buildings.\n\nEssential Skills & Experience\n\nStrong background in building maintenance\nHands-on trade experience (electrical, joinery, plumbing, or similar)\nProven ability to lead a small team\nExperience coordinating subcontractors\nGood understanding of H&S, fire safety, and compliance\nStrong organisational and communication skills\nFull UK driving licence\n\nDesirable\n\nCSCS, IOSH Managing Safely, NVQ, or similar trade qualifications\nExperience in hospitality, nightlife, leisure, or multi-site environments\nKnowledge of maintenance or asset management software\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n£45,000 salary + £2,000 annual bonus\nFull-time Maintenance Manager permanent position\nFlexible working hours (8am–4pm, with some flexibility)\nOccasional Saturday checks (around once per month)\nCompany mobile, laptop, and parking\nSupport from senior leadership and access to specialist expertise\nOpportunities for training and development\n\nWho This Role Suits\n\nThis Maintenance Manager role is ideal for someone who:\n✔ Likes being hands-on and still leading a team\n✔ Enjoys variety and fast-paced environments\n✔ Is comfortable working across multiple buildings\n✔ Wants a role with autonomy and responsibility\n✔ Has strong practical skills and a proactive mindset\n\nNext Steps\n\nIf you’re a skilled maintenance Manager or Maintenance Professional ready to lead a team and play a key role in keeping some of Nottingham’s busiest venues running smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.\n\nWe act as an Employment Agency/Business with regards to this vacancy.
